...
If I could I relive those days
I know the one thing that would never change
Every memory of looking out the back door
I had the photo album spread out on my bedroom floor
It's hard to say it, time to say it
Goodbye, goodbye
Every memory of walking out the front door
I found the photo of the friend that I was looking for
It's hard to say it, time to say it
Goodbye, goodbye
Look at this photograph
Everytime I do it makes me laugh

I may be going to hell in a bucket babe, but at least i'm enjoying the ride
GYM IS AWESOME!!!!! i really can't think of a time when gym has been better. our team is coming together SO GOOD this year, and me and katelyn are rockin out on series, and everyone's motivated and happy and YAY!!!! i wish jill could work out with us, but that ok. i feel like i might actually have a chance at level 9, at least i hope so.so. what is new in the life of kristen. lets see. as of now i am running a 10k run in 3 weeks that i am totally unprepared for. sweet deal man.....well actually it is pretty cool i'm excited!!! not so excited about training, since i already have absolutely no spare time, but i will have to get up pretty early again and go before school.definatley interested in the coffeehouse this week - anyone wanna go with me?!? leave me a comment if you do...so here's my random thought of the day for everyone:i'm sitting in chem, right, and grant was blahing about some random thing, and i started thinking, what are numbers really??? it's some word that someone made up along the way to help people out. and then people start making random equations and using chemicals and whatever. what the hell is the point?!?! you dont need any of that. for anything. you don't need it to survive, you can just live off of nature. i wish the US wasn't so god damn built up. it would be so cool to live on like an Indian reservation or whatever. i'm seriously starting to consider moving to one of those communities that are isolated and make their own food and everything. that's pretty damn cool, and it's a good time too, plus they seem more down to earth and cool. on a completely different note i want to be buddhist, but can't find the time to look into it. that will be a project for another day.sorry for the boring and random post.

once upon a midnight dreary.....
RANDOM THOUGHTS OF THE DAY:
so,
say you're blind. ( this is absolutely NOTHING against blind
people!!!!!! ) think about how differently you would see the
world. it might even be better. you would see people for
who they are, not knowing what they look like, bu only what they ound
like and act like. you would like people not for who they hang
out with or what they wear or any of that other material stuff, but
because you genuinely liked their personality. you couldn't be
racist or discriminant. it couldn't matter to you what is
accepted by society or not - you would have a mind of your own.
clearly it would be a harder lifestye, but just think of all the
possiblities that opens.....
another thing. explain to me how the people who should be the
most accepting are really the most closed off group besides one
other. that just doesn't make sense to me. and it also
annoys me because i have the same views as most of them, but for some
reason they like their group and their group only. you have to
dress a certain way, act a certain way, do certain stuff.
they think they're above everyone, but really they're just as bad as
the people the despise.

a box of rain will ease the pain, and love with see you through.....
so.
I have made it through the 1st week(ish) of school. It's been a
busy busy week. Wednesday I was at Gillete Stadium from around 2
until past 11 practicing for the pregame show. The actual show
was on Thursday, and I missed my first chem and history class for
that. But it was SOO worth it!!!! check out my pictures
(not from here, from my profile) to see some from the show. School
is pretty hard to get back into, but it's not too bad. I haven't
had too much work yet, but I know it's coming. Friday
was my borthday!!! I am finally able to drive, but I haven't gotten my
permit yet. Probably Wednesday. I had some people over
which was fun!! And today I went to my dad's work party which was
pretty fun. I won the donut eating contest with 2 other people,
and me, my dad, and erik won the mini golf tournament. The part
that sucked was that we did tugawar, and the knots had a loop, so I
stuck my fingers in, but it was a slipknot so it closed on my fingers
and they got stuck. It was probably one of the scariest moments
of my life because there was nooo circulation at all and I thought I
was seriously going to lose my fingers. But a guy used a knife to
cut the rope and we got it off. They're huge now, but nothing's
broken that I know of, so i'ts all good. sorry this was a boring
post, but i'm done now, and just thought I would update everyone.

[left page]
THE PRICE OF STEAK
a pound of beef takes three-quarters of a gallon of oil to produce.
[right page]
weighing
in at 1250 pounds, marina willson's champion steer grandview rebel is
ready for auction at a county fair in maryland. raising this steer has
taken an agricultural investment equal to 283 gallons of oil --
represented here by the red drums. that includes everything from
fertilizers on cornfields to the diesel that runs machinery on the farm.
taken from vegetarian community post......originally from national geographic
now really people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! people need to get a
serious grip. on everything. I've been thinking about it,
andit is so sad/ridiculous how bad stuff has been getting. People
give no thought what-so-ever to bulldozing a good mile or forest for a
field or a house or whatever the hell they want to make. What
about the environment??? all the animals that were living
there??? Roads are getting expanded even farther into forests
just to make it more convenient for everyone else. Rainforests
are getting cut down every day just to clear agriculture, only for
people to discover that the farmlands suck and they can't even use
it. But they keep doing it. Sometimes I really wonder if
there are any brains in there at all. Oil - we're having a huge
crisis with it, but people still use it and everything else so
carelessly. You go somewhere and get a drink, and by the end of
the night you've used 5 or 6 cups, when if you had just taken the time
to hold onto your first one you would have used to much less.
THERE ISNT ENOUGH OF EVERYTHING TO GO ON FOREVER USING STUFF LIKE
THIS!!!! people just throw away cans and bottles - just recycle
them!!!!!!!! And the saddest thing about all or this, is that I
can't do much about it. You can't stop using cars to slow down
pollution, because they are vital in our society now. You can't
stop using factories, because then we wouldn't get everything we
need. And unfortunately, the only way people are going ot learn
is when we run low or run out, like we are now with oil, when it's too
late.
vegan stuff
now, I know I'm not vegan anymore, but I found this and I thought that
daharja
put things very well to explain to all those folks out there what it's about. So I decided to share:
</span>
The truth is, the animal food industries - meat, dairy and eggs - have
built their empires on cruelty. Most of our food animals are treated in
a way that you would never treat a cat or a dog. There are millions of
caged chickens who will never see the sun or even flap their wings. You
would never keep a hen in a shoe box for its whole life, would you? Yet
this is what these animals must suffer. You would never skin a cow
while it is fully conscious, yet this happens every day in
slaughterhouses all across the western world.
Look at the meat
on your plate. It was once a living, breathing animal. Once it had
feelings. Once it could feel pain, and pain was its lot in life. Once
it had needs, yet those needs were forsaken. Once it longed to stretch
out its limbs and lie warm in the sun. Those longings were never
fulfilled. Once, maybe, the dead cow on your plate had a calf that it
longed to nurse. Yet that calf was torn away and stuffed into a veal
crate, chained so that it couldn't move while its mother mourned her
loss.
Once the fish you eat swam freely in the sea, glinting
silver beneath the waves. Once the tuna you had for lunch last week
dived and leaped, chased by dolphins that were netted and killed just
as the tuna was netted and killed. Once the salmon ran and the bears
fished the salmon and left their remains in the forests for the trees
to feed from and grow. Now the salmon are disappearing, the bears are
all but gone, and the trees and the forests die.
Once our seas
were full of fishes of so many different shapes and sizes and colours.
The seas are almost fished out now. Most of the fish have gone, and the
fishermen let their nets rot on the sand and turn to low-paying jobs to
support their struggling families. Once the slaughterhouse workers were
well paid and respected - now they have one of the highest injury rates
of any occupation, and most are denied even award rates or safe
conditions. They live below the poverty line, as the massive
conglomerations that employ them get fatter as you get fatter from the
caged animals that suffer for their profits.

sheep
Harmlessly passing your time in the grassland away;Only dimly aware of a certain unease in the air.You better watch out,There may be dogs aboutI’ve looked over jordan, and I have seenThings are not what they seem. What do you get for pretending the danger’s not real.Meek and obedient you follow the leaderDown well trodden corridors into the valley of steel. What a surprise!A look of terminal shock in your eyes. Now things are really what they seem. No, this is no bad dream. The lord is my shepherd, I shall not wantHe makes me down to lieThrough pastures green he leadeth me the silent waters by.With bright knives he releaseth my soul.He maketh me to hang on hooks in high places. He converteth me to lamb cutlets,For lo, he hath great power, and great hunger. When cometh the day we lowly ones,Through quiet reflection, and great dedicationMaster the art of karate,Lo, we shall rise up,And then we’ll make the bugger’s eyes water.Bleating and babbling I fell on his neck with a scream.Wave upon wave of demented avengersMarch cheerfully out of obscurity into the dream.Have you heard the news? The dogs are dead! You better stay homeAnd do as you’re told.Get out of the road if you want to grow old.

so i've bee...
so i've been thinking. i
know...never good right?? but anyway i've decided that i am the most
random mix of things, so much so that i can't even give myself a
name. most of my political views are hippy-like, but i don't
dress like one or really act like one if there is such a category. then
i'm a gymnast which is a whole new section, a whole new world that
bascially only gymnasts understand. then there's my craziness
where i like to do stupid shit because it's fun, even if i regret it
later. i don't think it's a bad thing that i'm all these
different things, but sometimes it's kind of frustrating because i
can't fit in with a group or have just one group of friends. more
interesting, i kinow, but still, sometimes i wish i could just have one
group of really close friends to share everything with. i kind of
feel like i'm spread top thin. maybe i'll get used to it. i
hope so.

test thingy....accurate in my opinion
Deep down inside, you know you're passionate.Passionate! You're excited about life and in touch with yourself and nature. Tell me, do I have this straight?Virtues: You appreciate humor like none other. Puns might even spark laughter in you (TEHY R FUNNI). You seek adventure and connection with your surroundings. You seek friends who will not only share laughs with you but actually form a deep bond of trust and empathy beneath the surface. You look for adventure and courage in people, and variation is necessary to keep you under control. You see yourself as multi-faceted, so you need people who can see you in your many lights. You're constantly trying to figure yourself out while analyzing the people around you. Silly, silly people.Aspirations: You can't decide what you want to be yet, but you know you want it to be adventures and interesting, with constant changes. You don't know what love will do for you yet, but it's competing with adventure for a place in your heart. An internal conflict has begun: can you be a successful worker, lover, and parent all at once?Quirks: Noise of any sort is irritating when you're in the mood. Smacking gum, loud chewing, humming- it's about as pleasing as bodily noises. You dislike emaciated people because of jealousy and just plain disgust. You're a procrastinator but a hard worker, too.Factors: You need constant attention and support. You're high-maintnence, but a great, reliable friend. Nature needs you and you need nature; it's helped thus far, so keep in touch with the outside world.Future: Who knows! You absolutely need constant change, so vacationing is surely in the cards. Will you settle down or not? Love will find you eventually, as it does to everyone. Will you choose the sweet home life or the rewarding busy-bee life?* * *

out, I don't know what I would do without everyone there.
Wish I knew what I was doing.

so. ...
so. i am leaving for
camp tomorrow. not that you can tell by the beginning but i'm
actually very excited!!!! however i am in sort of a nostalgic mood and
am just realizing how much more my friends mean to me this year.....not
that they didn't mean anything to me last year but i wasn't really
attached to them like i am now. I am going to miss everyone a
lot, and last year it was kind of like whatever. I kinda like
this because usually i get attached to someone before i have to say
goodbye for basically ever. Like my old coach I actually started
to like right before he left and moved to PA. And friends from
the gym I get really attached to and close with right before they go to
college. So this time I'm attached to people but I'm the one
leaving, which is a change. And i'm not leaving for good, i still
have 2 more years to enjoy with them, which is also good. Maybe
I'm finally learning. That would be a first.
On the same(ish) note, I'm very excited to see everyone from camp who i
haven't seen for the most part since last year!! i have my worries
about how this year is going to go, but at least i'm sure it will be
fun! I mean when is it not. kinda sucks that my favorite
place and people in the world I only get to see for two weeks.
But maybe that's why I like them so much? Probably. That's
cool though. It's someplace I know I will always find someone to
talk to at, and I know I'll never have to leave it, even after I
graduate, so that's some sort of security that I'm not loosing everyone
when I graduate I guess. Whatever. Enough of this. I
am going to go have a nice night at home before I leave. Maybe
write a poem or two who knows.

love
So I 've been thinking.
What is love anyway? I mean there's love of something objective,
like a sport or a color or a place. And there's love in a family,
but that's a different kind of love too. Then there's love
between friends, something that holds two people together in an
(almost) irreversible bond. But it's this last kind of love that
eludes me: romantic love. You hear and see it every day on
TV and the movies and even with people around you, but how many people
actually know what it is, what it feels like? I certainly
don't. Something about it escapes me. I'm not sure that I
don't believe in it, but I can't say that I faithfully believe in it
either. Maybe you have to experience it to believe it, I don't
know. I just can't seem to grasp it - I can't even imagine
finding one person that I love conditionally over every single other
person in this world. You will never know everyone. You
will never even meet half of the people out there. Of the people
you meet, you might actually get to know a 1/4 of them. So from
that tiny fraction of all the people out there, supposedly there is THE
ONE for you? Maybe I'm just unlucky and the person who is THE ONE
for me is somewhere in Australia or something and I'll never meet
them. Or maybe everyone else is lucky and their person happens to
be near enough for them to meet. But isn't it kind of boring with
just that one person? How do you know that some person you meet
on the street corner isn't better for you than the person you're
with? I don't think you can, but if you can't, then is love
really just the person you feel the most connected with, even if they
aren't perfect for you? What if there isn't anyone perfect for
you? I wish I could believe in this love thing, but I just can't
seem to find something that is concrete enough for me to believe in
it. Trust me, I want to find someone that I will fall in love
with, but will I ever find them??

Politics
Sorry to go political on all of you, but I feel the need to. So you may
know that Bush made a nice little speech last night to some army folks
in Fort Bragg, which is great and all, but I have a few comments to
make on that. First of all, at least in my opnion we should never
have done more than find Sadam Hussien and leave, but clearly it's too
late for that now. It is not our place or our right to intervene
with their government and try and force them into our type of
government because we deem it superior to theirs. Secondly, he
claims that by staying there we are ending the violence there, when
really we are one of the main causes of it. I don't know about
you but I found his whole speech kind of bogus. Feel free to
leave me your opinions, but I think we should just get the hell out of
there since it's not our buisness and we're causing more deaths than
we're saving.
